Charities

Our School Council play a big part in making the choice on which charity to support each year.

This year we have chosen the following charities;

  • CAFOD
  • The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
  • Children in Need
  • Collier Row Food Bank
  • MacMillan Cancer Support
  • Motor Neurone Disease Association
  • St Francis Hospice

Mini - Vinnies

The Mini Vinnies are the youngest members of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), an international Christian voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms by providing practical assistance to people in need.  Working closely with the Parish St Vincent De Paul Society, our Mini-Vinnies (led by Mrs Dover) meet fortnightly to make a change to our school and local community.

See...Think...Do...!

As well as fundraising, the children have an opportunity to write a prayer, say a prayer as an individual, in a class setting and also within whole school collective worship.   Charity does not necessarily need to be physical. The act of praying for someone or a group is an act of charity. Prayer forms an important part of advocacy and charity in our school.

Rosary Club

Our School Chaplains lead a Rosary Club throughout the months of October and May for our KS2 children.  For the children and staff, it is time to be still, calm and prayerful and reflect on our faith and take time out of our busy week to pray.

Community Projects

St Patrick’s, along with the Parish of Corpus Christi are the single largest contributor to our local Food Bank in Collier Row.  This drive for this charity is led by our Year 5 children in the Harvest Assembly.  Our focus is on “Community & Participation”  – The Common Good

“Let us be concerned for one another,

To help one another,
To show love and to do good, not forgetting
To gather as a community and encourage
Each other as you see the day drawing near.”
