Sustaining high standards, expectations and delivery of Physical Education

The information below details how we allocate the PE and Sports Premium Grant.

At St Patrick's, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to enjoy, succeed and stay active through sport.  Our Sports Premium funding allows us to enhance the quality of our PE provision, broaden the range of activites on offer and promote healthy, active lifestyles for all pupils.

The provision of opportunities and delivery of PE is regularly reviewed though the PE action plan by the curriculum leader and SLT.  Links are made with other schools to extend the experience offered to the children with regard to competitive sports and athletics.

By investing in specialist coaching, high-quality resources and exciting sporting opportunities, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of physical acitiviy whilst supporting the physical, social and emotional development of every child.

We make use of a Sports Coach from the Sports Collective to train staff and provide skills development for all children across the school.  The coach follows the school PE curriculum and assessment and works closely with our lead teacher.

For children who are not proficient swimmers,  opportunities for extra lessons outside of school are being offered to them in the development of swimming and water survival skills.
